Awesome Windsor Star article that tells a lot about the production happening at Phog tonight and again in February.

Windsor Feminist Theatre Presents My Little Butterball at Phog Lounge

WHO: Windsor Feminist Theatre presents My Little Butterball, written by Christian Bédard, composed by Kevin Muir, Directed by Suzanne Turnbull, Musical Direction by Michael Karloff, starring Jasmine St. Rose as Katie Redding, and Raven Mullen as The Stage Manager, and featuring The (other) Band© with Michael Karloff & Michael Palazzolo.

WHAT: Christian Bédard’s My Little Butterball is an original Canadian script and score exploring a young woman’s lifelong battle with self-image and weight issues. This engaging, accessible, and heart-warming comedy was originally written in French in 1986 as a one-woman show, and toured Québec and France extensively, but has had little exposure in English speaking Canada. Since 1986, the relevance of this musical seems only to have increased, as this troubling phenomenon continues to affect more youth, at an even earlier age.

WHERE: An unusal place for a full theatre performace. Phog Lounge (157 University Ave. W.)! An ultra-intimate experience.

WHEN:

Jan. 23, Feb. 21 – MUSIC ONLY PERFORMANCES where the band plays all of the music from the play. These two performances are set-ups and enticements for casually interested (potential) viewers of the play in its entirety.

Jan. 31, Feb. 28 – FULL PERFORMANCES where the entire play and music is performed together.

– doors open at 5pm, 8pm performance for each of the four dates.
